Hello!
I'm Jaleh (or Zhaleh) (she/her), a Janzu practitioner, somatic coach/facilitator, architect and sound enthusiast, based in the so-called Vancouver, Canada, but also mobile. I’m originally from Tehran, Iran and immigrated to Canada in 2003.
With a background in Electrical Engineering and a master's degree in Architecture, my professional journey has been diverse. As a queer woman spending my early years under an oppressive anti-queer regime, my personal life experience has led me to seek healing and has deeply influenced my advocacy for social and environmental justice.
For the past decade, I’ve worked as an architect, shaping the built environment and physical spaces. Zooming in and zooming out: designing wall details, designing transit stations. Later, I discovered my passion for creating social and collective spaces. I started building communities where individuals could connect and collaborate towards common goals, from learning and brainstorming spaces to spaces for activism and humanitarian support.
On a parallel path, over the last 5 years, I set out on a journey of self-discovery, healing and growth to further align with things that brings joy and meaning into my life. I’ve become fascinated about the inner spaces of the self. Along this path, I learnt about somatic therapies. I discovered and worked with Inner Relationship Focusing, concsious movement, Janzu aqua massage, sound work and somatic coaching. Zooming in and zooming out: observing my inner child, witnessing my whole self.
Experiencing the profound shifts these practices bring, I feel an urge to share these practices with others. So I'm here, and it would be my absolute pleasure to be your companion and witness in your journey of self-discovery and growth.
